Shi Qing, an established actress known for her elegance and emotional restraint, once had a fleeting entanglement with a college student—Wei Jiuqi. The girl was young, obedient, and eager to please, always clinging to Shi Qing like an affectionate puppy during school breaks, quietly adapting to her moods both in bed and out.
But it was never love, at least not for Shi Qing.
So when the relationship ended, she offered Wei Jiuqi a severance check and sent her on her way.
“Think of it as your first bucket of gold after graduation,” she said.
To everyone’s surprise, Wei Jiuqi shot to fame with her very first drama.
At the award ceremony, her acceptance speech stirred the entire room:
“Tonight, I want to thank someone—she taught me the law of the jungle and helped me earn my first bucket of gold.”
In the back row, Shi Qing’s heart skipped a beat. That fiery gaze from the stage cut straight through the crowd, landing directly on her.
Three months later, Shi Qing is cast in a major historical film, playing the queen opposite a powerful long princess.
At the script read-through, the “newcomer” long princess arrives early.
Wei Jiuqi lifts her head from the script, strolls over with a calm smile, and greets her:
“Teacher Shi, nice to meet you. I look forward to working with you.”
On screen, the queen plunges a blade into the princess.
Off screen, Shi Qing trembles, pinned against the wall in her soaked white shirt, teeth marks blazing red on her skin.
“Don’t shake, Shi Qing. Tell me—how many buckets of gold was that performance worth?”
